| E-Smart in Berlin at the end of 2009! |

2008-09-08 19:06:34 Berlin starts first electric car project with Daimler/RWE (Gehrke). As reported last week both Daimler and RWE announced a first joint project on the usage of electric vehicles in Berlin from the end of 2009 and onwards. There will be 500 charging stations in Berlin and Daimler will start with ~100 E-Smart (which will progressively be ramped up to a 5 digit figure 2-3 years later). While being a small step Team Save Earth Fund believes this project highlights the attractiveness of electric vehicles for urban usage and we continue to see this as a step in the right direction from many angles (CO2 balance, rising economics due to cheap operating cost and falling battery prices). We further believe that it is very likely that other manufacturers will follow into this venture and therefore see significant & medium term potential for urban car usage. |
