Oil Magnat Launch Renewable Plan
2008-07-08 17:51:12

Today T. Boone Pickens, the oil magnat about to install 2700 wind power plants in Texas during the four forthcoming years and also founder of BP Capital, launched his so called “”Pickens Plan”. The idea of this plan is that the oil dependency of the U.S.A. will sink with at least one third in less than ten years. In order to market it, Pickens and BP Capital will carry out the biggest campaign ever. Jay Rosser, Pickens’ constant companion, said that the Americans will be seeing Pickens to the same extent as they’ve seen the presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama.

Pickens announced today that the presidential candidates haven’t payed much attention to the issue of oil and that somebody is going to have to.

In this recently launched clip you can see what views Pickens has regarding oil and energy (external link to www.YouTube.com).

According to BP Capital, the wind power plans T. Boone Pickens has for Texas, will generate enough electricity to provide one million households with it, at a cost of US $10-12 billion. In relation to the investments, Pickens is building circuit lines of his own in order to have the wind power plant running by the year 2011, thus not having to wait for the government to build the circuit lines. What is interesting from an American point of view is that Texas, the former state of oil, is leading in the U.S.A. regarding this and that the citizens take great pride in their wind power plant. The state has recently incorporated a legislation that will make it easy to set these plants up. Don’t miss the video of Pickens from the May 2008 Alternative Fuels and Vehicles Conference and Expo in Las Vegas.
