| Alternative energy - a threat to Opec |

2008-07-01 13:18:26 Opec, the oil organisation, see a threat from alternative energy. Announced today from the chairman, Chakib Khelil, said that there exist great uncertainty concering making huge investment in infrastructure which could trigger a production boom. Several countries as well as multi-national companies demands an increase in oil production. But Opes also se a mounting threat from investment in renewable energy, energy efficiency and slowing growth.
