In notable development in the water industry, the City of Los Angeles introduced a plan on May 15to begin adding recycled municipal sewage the city´s drinking water. The program would require roughly $1 billion dollar in an advanced filtration system. The proposal falls on the heels of a comparable plan implemented by the Orange County Municipal Water District which spent nearly $500 million dollars on a similar plant. The move comes as the state of California braces for the possibility of the most severe water shortages in decades. For more information, we have attached a recent article that appeared in the New York Times. |
