Vestas has completed its integrated wind power production base in China
The factory is located in Tianjin in the state-sponsored development area Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area. Vestas made its entrance into the market in 2006, when it built a blade factory and has since expanded the business. Today, Vestas factory is the largest integrated factory and covers the production of machinery for the turbines, blades, generators, control systems and mechanical parts. Investment in the area currently amounts to 380 million U.S. dollars, accounting for 70% of Vestas total investment in China.

The Chinese market is growing strongly and had an installed capacity of 5.9 GW in 2007, an increase of 145% YoY. China is expected to surpass Germany as the leading wind-energy country by the end of 2009.
