China will be at the forefront of combating climate change by 2020 if it meets government targets, according to Financial Times September 21:st. China usually meets this kind of targets, according to Fatih Birol, IEA, and if they succeed this time, China will be the country that achieves the largest emission reductions. The finding contrasts the widespread image as China as a country of inefficient carbon-intensive industry.
